Level 1 Improv
Next class starts Oct 1, 2013
Open to aspiring artists, this introductory class covers the basic vocabulary of the Johnstonian method of improvisation. Structure is based around Keith Johnstone's book "Improvisation and the Theatre" and will take each class along from beginning concepts of offer and acceptance, narrative structure, charactor creation and a brief introduction to basic mask technique. Improv Boot Camp
Returns in the fall
Build on the basics as you hone the concepts taught in the level one class. Rick will also introduce several advanced techniques as the course progresses into a deeper understanding of improvisational narrative including advancing, parallel/conflictual/complimentary offers, essential endowment and basic acting technique. Completion of the Rick's Level 1 Improv Course or prior experience in improvisation is a requirement for this course. Course consists of four two-hour classes over a four week period. Sunday Drop-In Class
Sundays at noon until the end of June
The Improv Guild will be offering drop in classes every Sunday at noon. No previous experience necessary - anyone is welcome. Each session is 90 minutes and will cover fundamental techniques such as accepting offers, advancing, character development and more. Try your hand at improvising today! Cost: $10 cash/class |
